I have thought about this before... I would also choose "痛苦既清醒". It seems radical, why would I want to be 痛苦? I guess the thing is, I don't want to be 無知 no matter what comes with it. And I like to be 清醒 no matter what price I have to pay.

Over the years, I actually find that, pain... is not always a bad thing. I still don't like it, but I know without it, there were a lot of things I couldn't come to understand. Without it, I can't be the person I'm today. Pain, helps us to know ourselves better.
